- Barry Blanchard, Mountain Guide; 1982-present. Free-lance climbing guide, and sole proprietor, responsible for guiding all aspects of mountaineering on a global basis.

Senior Guide responsible for mentorship of junior guides and for teaching and conducting all aspects of mountaineering: rockclimbing, ski mountaineering, waterfall ice-climbing, alpine climbing, winter mountaineering and international expeditions to high altitude peaks.

In addition to the above I have, since 1984, contributed regularily to various mountaineering periodicals including "Climbing", "Rock & Ice", "Gripped", "Alpinist", the  "Canadian Alpine Journal", the  "American Alpine Journal" ; I have had pieces published in  "Canadian Summits", "The Canadian Mountaineering Anthology", "World Mountaineering", "Heroic Climbs", and "Contact -Mountain Climbing and Environmental Thinking".

I have also presented a number of public and corporate slide shows, including the keynote presentation of the 17th annual Banff Festival of Mountain Films, the Canadian Energy Summit -RBC Capitol Markets, 2007, and the Association of Canadian Pension Management National Conference, 2008.
